An analog display is the traditional way a clock would appear. Analog refers to a representation of changing values and quantitates, in a form of some device or signal. Compared to digital, an analog watches use hands that move around the face of the watch as the time changes. In short, analog watches have a mechanical structure that rotates the hands. The "ticking" sound is what you hear from an analog watch. Sometimes an analog watch display can show all the hour markers, but sometimes it could just be 12, 3, 6, and 9.
