Spring Drive

The spring drive movement was made in 1977. The vision Yoshikazu Akahane had in mind when he created the spring drive was that he wanted a watch wound by a mainspring that also had a one-second-a-day accuracy. That is incredibly high! It's a stable, precise and durable watch most definitely. A Seiko Spring Drive chronograph is one of the best chronographs out there. Because the movement goes in a single direction, this movement expresses the natural flow of time. With a 72 hour power reserve, the spring drive movement has more power and runs more smoothly than others.
